Sunday...

Monday, June 27, 2005

11.46pm, sunday, Jun 26, 2005. I'm just wondering why time just slipped away so fast. ~Sigh~ Sometimes, without realising, it's another week ahead. Tomorrow is the start of my 6th week since term starts. Tons of works are assigned, Projects, Practical reports etc... I'm not complaining, I like my life now. Although, sometimes life is hectic, it can be meaningful too.

I should be in bed 10 minutes later. Tomorrow, many of my friends who are in JC are having their common test. All the best to them. =D I read shuxuan's blog just now. =X She seems so demoralized with her studies and I am worried about it. Really hope she can pull through her down period and keep her fighting spirit going.

To shuxuan:

Jia you. What matters is that you are trying your best and your fighting spirit is alive. Don't be demoralized and depressed, okay? I can't help you but I hope I can give you my moral support. I believe other friends of your are giving you morale supports too. Don't give up. NEVER SAY DIE. =D

Hong kiat, Don

It's been a long time since I last met up with my secondary friends. Really miss them. Hope that they are doing fine now. =D

Yeah! Tomorrow I have piano lesson after school. Oh, by the way, I am trying to look for a 2nd hand piano. Please tell me if you have sources to get it. Thanks. =D

To myself:
(Msg to myself, haha. Seems so silly)

Common test is coming. Work hard. Don't slack. Live life to the fullest. Most importantly, If there's a will, there's a way. Ask questions if you have doubts. Move on with life if you encounter something undesirable. Never say die.

Don

The 5th week of semester

Sunday, June 26, 2005

I'm back !! =D This week is my 5th week since the term started and my common test is just three weeks away. =X Anyway these days I was occupied with lots of stuff. My school academic stuff, my piano lesson, my accounts in photography club and now the book fair for library ambassador. In total, I have 3 CCA s. =X That's a little taxing for me. The good new is that I managed to work out with my photography club president such that I don't have to attend the committee meeting which is held on every tuesday at 6pm.

I'm looking forward for the upcoming leadership seminar which is held at Johor. I am chosen by the photography club president to attend this seminar with him.

Currently, I need to do a project for my immunology module on how do malaria virus invades our immune system. Interetsing topic but it's definitely not easy to find information about it.

I guess I have to stop here. This monday I have piano lesson. Yeah!!!

Resulting was out...

Friday, June 17, 2005

The result for the interview was out. I got into Klavierensemble (Piano ensemble) !! I'm happy... yeah!!!

Anyway, I came across this article and thought that it's interesting.

Which one are you???
Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was
miserable and that she didn't know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed.

Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with
water and placed each on a high fire. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot, and ground coffee beans in the third pot.

He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter.

The daughter, moaned and impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing.

After twenty minutes he turned off the burners. He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed them a bowl. He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup.

Turning to her he asked. "Daughter, what do you see?"

"Potatoes, eggs, and coffee," she hastily replied.

"Look closer", he said, "and touch the potatoes." She did and noted that they were soft.

He then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the
shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.

Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face.

"Father, what does this mean?" she asked.

He then explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each
faced the same adversity - the boiling water. However, each one reacted
differently.

The potato went in strong, hard, and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak.

The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid
interior until it was put in the boiling water. Then the inside of the egg became hard.

However, the ground coffee beans were unique. After they were exposed to the boiling water, they changed the water and created something new.

"Which are you," he asked his daughter. "When adversity knocks on your
door, how do you respond? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean? "

In life, things happen around us, things happen to us, but the only thing that truly matters is what happens within us.

Which one are you?

Well, I got to log off now. I'll be back during weekend. Cya!

Another week....

Sunday, June 12, 2005

End of the third week of school term.

It's a hectic week. I Stayed back pretty late in school for piano emsemble interview and photography club interview. Well, I have decided to join photography club as treasurer, one of the committe members. I got the e-mail not long ago that I am accepted as a treasurer. Haha... Seriously, my feelings are contradiciting myself. I feel delighted yet I feel scared too. I am afraid I spend too much time on CCA and I will negect my studies.

The practicals this week was not too bad. At least I enjoyed it quite a bit. Besides the cruel 'killing mouse' part of immuno prac, the rest was fine. we actually disect a mouse to get their spleen and to see their internal organs. During immuno prac, I finally able to inject the mouse with antigens on my own. Haha... The microbio prac this week was fun too, we viewed the lactobacillus which were found in yogurt under microscope.

I think I'll have a even hectic week ahead, with my piano theory lesson on mon and photography meeting on tue. Well, I got to stop here.

Initially, I wanted to upload the disected picture of a mouse but I feel that it's disgusting to many people and I feel it is so sadist. Thus, I am not uploading it but those who want to see it can alway ask from me.

Sleepy,
Don

Third of weeks

Wednesday, June 08, 2005

I bought an new oven yesterday!! Haha... I can bake cookies, cake and even sweets now. =D

Yes buddy! I'm updating my blog now. Haha.. Well, Guess what? I am in my school library using my lappy to write this entry. Anyway, I was utterly disappointed with myself for my practicals, both Applied & Molecular Microbiology Practical (AMB) and Immunology Practical(IMM). During my AMB prac, I forgot all those Aseptic Techniques. To make things worst, I even forgot to do two agar plates. Sigh~ In IMM prac, we were supposed to cut the tail vein of the mouse to get their blood and centrifuge the blood to get the preimmuno serum.Guess what? I was too afraid to do it. Thus, Jia Jia did the job for our group. That's so crap. Sigh~ why? see, a gal can perform it so confident. I'm a guy, yet I'm even too afraid to do it. Worst of all, I don't really even dare to carry it when I am changing their cage. My friend, Shu Xuan told me that if I am so stressed up with my academic stuff, I will just make things worse. Now, I am just trying to do my best (giving my best shot) without stressing myself. =)

Oh, by the way, it is for sure that I am moving my house to area near Mount Faber (Telok Balgiah) [Can't spelled it well though] as t. my mum is already looking for a house from our agent. Well, I thought it true and I think I just take it as a challenge. My grandmother even told my mum to buy new furnitures and fill up my new room with it. I think it's cool anyway. Haha...

Lets just divert away from these disappointing matters. I went to TPJC choir concert with Edna and Angeline. Wai kit was singing. By the way, that concert was pretty enjoyable. =D I think I got to stop here to do my work. I'll try to update this blog soon. Hehe...

Don
